  Science and Engineering Laboratory, Upstream ProcessesWork to support manufacturing scale operations using small scale bioreactor (3L) operations. Prioritize the execution of a continual series of Hy-Fish Screening experiments totaling 112 bioreactors over 6 month period designed to find the best combination of raw material lots to produce the greatest titer. Process includes run prep (calibrating probes, ordering bioreactors, media/buffer preparation, batch records), daily monitoring of cell culture (good understanding of cell parameters), equipment troubleshooting, and data analysis (DeltaV, PI, and run suitability) to analyze cell culture performance. Best performing combinations are then recommended for manufacturing processes. Commissioning of 16 new bioreactor controllers, first to familiarize with equipment (DeltaV, feed and base pumps, pH probes, and DO probes) and detailed the usage for rest of the lab. Create easy to use reference sheets for those equipment usage. Write new document for commissioning protocol, executed commissioning protocol, and worked with automation team to troubleshoot the stations that performed outside commissioning parameters. Knowledge of Aseptic techniques, cell culture in spinners, and cell counting methods (Cedex and Nova Flex) and other equipment (YSI biochem analyzer, BioHT analyzer, centrifugation processes) First draft SOP of new instrument Cedex BioHT. Grow, maintain, and harvest cells according to established SOPs. Experience with 5S concepts. Coordinate small scale satellite runs. Support in technology transfer and cell culture equipment maintenance activities. Help bring newer laboratory personnel on board with laboratory practices and procedures in Science and Engineering Lab. Good understanding of GMP processes. Show less
