  Managing service administrators in a customer service role - I manage the Assignments Office and Desk Operations in the University of North Texas Department of Housing and Residence Life. I am responsible for managing three full-time housing assignment coordinators, four full-time area desk operations coordinators, and seventeen student part-time employees.The three assignment coordinators provide individualized housing assignment services to approximately 6,400 residents on campus at UNT. The seventeen student employees perform tasks related to student recruitment and customer service. These twenty direct-reports make up the Assignments Office.The four desk coordinators provide supervision to approximately 100 additional student employees who staff all thirteen residence hall front desks, including hiring, training, and scheduling. I supervise our individual housing assignments and manage our department's front-line customer service interactions. I supervise a staff of 3 full-time professionals and 17 part-time student employees. I manage our campus occupancy, which is more than 6700, and liaise with other campus offices to create a recruitment and engagement experience for prospective students. My role is to make sure our residents get what they pay for. The resident population consisted of upperclassmen and graduate students from diverse backgrounds. I remained there for two years before transferring to my current building.Currently, I direct the operations of a building with 600 residents and a staff of 3 full-time professionals and 20 part-time student employees, all of whom report directly to me. The resident population consists of freshmen and student athletes from diverse backgrounds.In both roles, I sought to develop residents and staff's well-being, academic success, and personal growth. I respond to major and minor emergencies. And, I liaise with multiple office across campus, including Athletics, Parking and Transportation, Orientation and Transition Programs, and Dining. I directed the operations of a building with 250 residents and a staff of 1 full-time professional and 10 part-time student employees. The resident population consisted of upperclassmen and student athletes from diverse backgrounds.I held this position concurrent with my Residence Hall Director position at the 600-person building, which meant that I was managing a resident population of 850 and supervising a staff of 4 full-time professionals and 30 part-time student employees in two different buildings across campus from each other.I responded to major and minor emergencies and sought to empower the staff to function independently and effectively.
