      Performed routine quality control inspections of surface temps, tanks and media, organized daily media placement (thaw, freeze, stripping and ISCI media) and managed laboratory inventory, including clinical supplies and media, scrubs, Tri-Gas, CO2 and Nitrogen tanks. My responsibilities included daily inspections of dewars and liquid nitrogen tanks to verify proper functionality in addition to maintaining all water circulators, bubblers, squirt bottles, and incubator water baths. Other daily tasks included creating and processing new lab summaries for next day oocyte aspirations, frozen embryo transfers, oocyte thaws, oocyte freezes and thaw, biopsy, refreezes and to create, place and remove patient labels from incubators. I prepared and aliquoted various media for clinical use (OPU and ET Flush, oil, gamete wash, TESE media, and lubrication for fresh collection) and also assisted with both dish witnessing and identification. As an assistant, I was called to transcribe verbal changes between physicians into written requisitions and fertilization reports, and facilitated proper communication to embryologists through the creation of a daily schedule of procedures and notations of requests outside of standard protocol within Excel. Other duties were to execute end of day laboratory shutdown procedures, and disposal of discarded embryos, and dishes into biohazardous waste and sharps receptacles. Lastly, I utilized an online database, eIVF, in order to relay andrology and embryology data between lab, clinical and surgical staff to promote efficiency in patient care. Show less
