  My responsibilities as an intern at UNEP-ROAP included managing daily news updates on social media and assisting the Communications Officer conducting media outreach.In the meantime, I participated in a research project under the Indian Ocean-South-East Asian Marine Turtle Conservation and Management Plan. I captured Google Earth imagery of Indian Ocean shorelines in Somalia, Kenya, Tanzania and Mozambique and prepared the data for subsequent habitat mapping.

  We as an interdisciplinary team partnered with the local environmental advocates and stakeholder groups in Vadodara, Gujarat, India to formally critique the government proposed riverfront development project for the Vishwamitri River through a year-long field-based research and design project.Our study was informed by spatial and non-spatial data collected through field observation, literature review, and meeting with municipal commissioner and government officials. We delivered an alternative, multi-scale design concept leveraging multi-functional green infrastructure to meet the goals of boosting economic vigor and providing public space while enhancing Vishwamitri's ecological and cultural values.   I worked on the WWF Water Stewardship team to consolidate GIS data from water risk reports shared by corporate partners and generated insights from spatial analysis to inform water stewardship activities.- Extracted water risk information from Source Water Vulnerability Assessments- Designed table relations based on selected attributes - Spatially enabled the data by joining water risk information to WWF HydroSHEDS- Enriched map layers of the WWF Water Risk Filter with the high-resolution water risk data- Spatially analyzed water risks to beverage production and mining businesses- Identified high priority areas for collaborative watershed stewardship Show less
