      Experimental study of the pulverisation phenomena of doublet/triplet spray injectors for their use in satellite propulsion with liquid bi-propellants. Visualization of the particle size distribution of the spray by shadowgraph. A sequence of tests has been performed by changing the injected fluids (water, ethanol, isooctane, dodecane) and their pressure, the position of the laser and its intensity. Data processing and results interpretation in DaVis and Matlab.

Supervisor: Jérôme Anthoine.Tasks: Conception of a system design tool that predicts the performances of a hybrid rocket engine in computation times adapted for the first engine pre-design phases. Development of a 1.5-D model of the combustion chamber as well as simple 0-D models for the rest of the main engine components (catalyst, injector, nozzle). Numerical validation by CFD and experimental validation through experimental tests performed at the laboratory. Show less
