      Laboratory intern

I worked with Dr. Steven Leach since 2016 when I had my first internship in his lab at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Since then, I also worked in his lab at Dartmouth in person during the summers of 2019 and 2021 and completed a remote internship in 2020 due to Covid-19 complications. I have worked closely with senior research scientist Surajit Dhara and graduate student Alexandra Massa.

    • Colorado college

      Feb 2021 - Feb 2021
      Student researcher

For one block (3.5 weeks) I worked in the Killian Lab, which studies genetic regulation of nervous system development in C. Elegans. I worked on a CRISPR-Cas9 project aimed at creating a Dmpy19 mutation - gaining experience in CRISPR microinjections and the other techniques associated with that such as needle pulling. I also gained experience in genetic crosses as well as worm culture and care. Even though this was a short experience, I learned a lot about project management, C. Elegans biology, and am grateful for the exposure to new laboratory techniques. Show less
