CCG was formerly Coastal Georgia Community College.As Director of Human Resources, I managed the College’s HR activities and assured the equitable treatment of employees and applicants in accordance with laws & policies. Also served as the AA/EEO Officer, Open Records Officer, & Ethics Officer, and was a member of the President's Cabinet.Designed a new 3-stage orientation program to acclimate new faculty & staff to the college.Prevailed in a complex EEOC case brought against a department head, and managed many other employee relations issues.Recruited 30 faculty and staff members in 8 months for a new campus 40 miles south of the main campus.Created and implemented “HR 1101,” a monthly presentation about HR topics such as health insurance plans, workplace safety, & training options with the intent of improving communication with faculty & staff.Guided the transition of PeopleSoft HRMS from an internal network-based system to an internet-based system.       The University System of Maryland Office coordinates the efforts of 12 institutions that serve more than 170,000 students.My role is to develop, coordinate and review human resources programs and policies at the system level, and assist institutions with human resources processes and issues. I work closely with the Associate Vice Chancellor for Human Resources and the Chief Human Resources Officers of the USM institutions, especially in the development and coordination of USM human resources activities, policy development and implementation; collective bargaining negotiations; the analysis of USM human resources data; preparation of reports to USM leadership, institutions, and state & federal agencies; and coordination of various activities with representatives of Maryland's higher education institutions and State agencies.I also share responsibility for the human resources functions of the 110-person USM Office, including assistance to USMO employees and the development of USM Office policies and procedures.
