  Specialist in Sonata Building Modeling Application and autoCAD we sold, implemented and supported Sonata in the Hong Kong, PRC, Thailand and Taiwan on Silicon Graphics Iris and Apollo workstations. This included presentations to customers and at conferences, the application training and teaching parametric coding. During that time I also bought and used AutoCAD on a Sun-Sparc workstation.

  As an expert power user of the Building modelling Systems Sonata and it's successor Reflex. I helped the company sell and support the product developing parametric elements and workflows. During this time I worked on and helped develop the use of the applications with time evented models which was fun and exciting as Sonata did not have this capability implicitly built-in but had the features to make this work. Like so many of the users we were pioneering. With the birth of the internet I developed and wrote the BIW initially as a product / supplier directory and then as the world’s first web-based project extranet branded the Information Channel. I also developed VR for retail spaces using the Retail Fixture builder using the VRML schema format on Silicon Graphics Work stations (Iris and Indigo). Show less

  BIW was formed as new company and its flagship product was the Information Channel which I had developed at Visual Technology. I pushed for a pricing model that enabled all members of the project team to access the application by making the cost per project as opposed to a cost per user. Other companies followed suit and helped establish project extranets which have now evolved to become known as CDE's Common Data Environments. I split my time helping develop the product and lead a research group of 3 PhD Students. Show less

  Responsible for our FM specialist applications and other Web and Mobile Applications development. Created a Web browser version of the Retail Space Planning application. Developed methods to capture project information from project extra-nets and work-package contractors to get reliable accurate BIM for PPM systems import. Developed application for capturing Health and Safety survey data with Symonds on large portfolio of properties 3000+ and manage the execution program of remedial works saving the client millions of pounds. Developed application for Capita Symonds to take a large Health Care Building utilisation survey data and display it on floor plans and provide a PDF output document automatically.
