      Topic: • Mechanical Properties of Self-compacting Concrete (SCC) incorporating fly-ash.Key duties: • Fabricating all the equipment required to test the fresh-state properties SCC.• Optimising the use of fly-ash in SCC, focussing on preventing bleeding and segregation without compromising the fluidity essential for self-compactability. • Carrying out compressive and indirect tensile (splitting) tests to quantify the strength of the resulting concretes, and using the results to work out optimised SCC mix designs. • Securing of industrial funding for the SCC project, and continuing collaboration with them to produce 02 conference papers (in 2011) and 02 journal papers (in 2015 & 2016).
