  WASH Engineer

  As a dedicated WASH Engineer for the GCA Project funded by the Green Climate Fund (GCF) in Shyamnagar, Satkhira, Bangladesh, my role encompassed overseeing the Rainwater Harvesting System and Pond-based Ultra-filtration System's maintenance, mobilizing the local community, and leading the Operation and Maintenance (O&M) sector within Shyamnagar Upazila. The primary mission of this project is to alleviate drinking water shortages for impoverished residents (especially women), reduce the time and effort required to access fresh water, and enhance livelihoods in this climate-vulnerable coastal region. Furthermore, I provided critical support to the Department of Public Health Engineering (DPHE) of Shyamnagar Upazila, Satkhira District, to amplify the impact of our efforts and contribute to long-term resilience against climate change. Working in the coastal belt through UNDP was a truly enriching experience. Show less

  Officer-Inclusive Design

  In my role, I design, maintain, and supervise work areas for improved WASH technologies, such as single-pit/twin-pit latrines, for underprivileged rural communities in Bangladesh. I support the design, prototyping, testing, and finalization of new WASH technologies aligned with recognized design principles like Human-Centered Design (HCD). I also review and enhance existing documentation for experts and field resources, addressing constraints and challenges to ensure inclusive use by gender, disabled, and minority communities in rural and hard-to-reach areas. Additionally, I provide technical support for projects like “Create and Meet the Demand for Climate Resilience Solutions in Chattogram Hill Tracks” funded by UNCERF, and “Exploring environment-friendly Vetiver Grass Technology” funded by the Paul Polak Innovation Fund.
