  I collaborated with a team to create educational and advocacy campaigns to stop female genital mutilation on social media using information provided by the NGO and writing content. I participated in the workshops aimed at raising awareness of FGM and providing social tools for health professionals who have a direct contact with people of African origin in order to facilitate communication and respectful treatment of people with different cultural traditions.

  Developing SMS content for an AI-driven messaging system for use by our prenatal population. The design is to reinforce normal pregnancy content as well as elevate awareness about preeclampsia and empowerment. The first pilot of 12 pregnant patients engaged in the AIM system and received 12 weeks of content over 12 days then participated in a focus group that I facilitated in both English and Spanish to solicit feedback about the content, language, tone, and motivation. I translated this content and conducted rapid qualitative analysis of this feedback to abstract themes with respect to education, awareness, and acceptability. This content was adjusted and flow of the AIM system and the second pilot was conducted in a similar manner for the final product of the chatbot. Show less Promoting and conversing with English and Spanish speaking inpatients at the Boston Medical Center with the goal to enroll them into the "All of Us" program by the NIH. The objective of the NIH program is to enroll diverse people from across the U.S to speed up medical research. People who join share information about their health, habits, and what it’s like where they live. By looking for patterns, researchers may learn more about what affects people’s health since medicine shouldn't be based on a "one size fits all" approach. The "All of Us" program will rewrite the narrative of healthcare regarding the past exclusion of marginalized populations and create more participation in research by these populations. Show less

  I work for individuals and families to move beyond emergencies into more stable and healthier lives. I provide Health and Wellness Services in the community including interactive health and wellness workshops, support groups, events and resource fairs that cover daily needs including nutrition and healthy living. I conduct Community Outreach in order to assess the individuals needs and respond with information, resources, and limited financial assistance. I also work in Food Resource Services to help operate a network of 20 food pantries and assist those eligible for SNAP. Lastly, I directly help Hispanic immigrant families and undocumented folks in providing available healthcare resources to improve quality of life. Show less
