      MSc internship at the Antimicrobial Discovery Center/Lewis Laboratory. My research involved screening for novel tuberculosis antimicrobial compounds from actinomycetes found in soil and marine sediments. I developed a semi-throughput screening platform, and carried out mechanism of action studies on compounds of interest and worked in collaboration with NovoBiotic Pharmaceuticals in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

      My role as a Science Officer at the European Marine Board (EMB) involves facilitation of strategic marine science-policy foresight activities including EMB working groups, editing and communication for EMB's science-policy documents, and participation in EU projects. Activities include:-Editor for EMB flagship publication 'Navigating the Future V' and associated Policy Brief linking to the societal outcomes of the UN Decade of Ocean Science-Management of EMB working groups on 'Big Data in Marine Science', 'Coastal Resilience' and 'Marine Habitat Mapping' and editor for resulting foresight publications.-Lead organiser of 7th EMB Forum on 'Big Data in Marine Science: Supporting the European Green Deal, EU Biodiversity Strategy, and a Digital Twin Ocean'-Partner in the EU projects "International Ocean Governance Forum" and "Towards an International Platform for Ocean Sustainability"-Coordinating and editing the international Policy Brief for BRIDGE Horizon 2020 Project: Advancing Black Sea Research and Innovation to Co-Develop Blue Growth with Resilient Ecosystems-Chair of EMB's artist-in-residence programme 'EMBracing the Ocean' committee Show less
