  My main job purpose was to coordinate the development and delivery of the Student Voice through effective facilitation and coordination of Representation and Democratic activities at Hertfordshire SU. I worked with student reps, volunteers, full-time staff and sabbatical officers to improve representation for all students at University of Hertfordshire.Trained 200 volunteer representatives and regularly communicated with 650 Student Reps across ten academic Schools. Served as the clerk for Hertfordshire SU's Student Ideas Forum (Student Council), assisted in two elections and was always willing to support colleagues from across other departments. Show less

  Student Voice Coordinator

  My core focus of this role consisted of supporting the Student Academic Representative system at Cardiff University. I helped to deliver training for students who volunteer as Reps and helped promote the Rep system more widely. It was my job to keep track of Rep details and achievements, taking minutes for core meetings and building strong ties with University staff.I assisted full-time Elected Officers and part-time Campaign Officers to deliver core campaigns and help design new methods of engagement. Additionally I read policy papers relating to academic standards to ensure that the full-time Elected Officers are prepared for their meetings.Further still I helped support the Student Voice Manager in delivering University-wide elections and democratic events such as AGM, Student Senate and Scrutiny Committee.   Responsible for managing the budget and activities of Cardiff Confucius Institute based in the School of Modern Languages at Cardiff University. The Institute is responsible for Mandarin teaching in Primary and Secondary Schools in Wales as part of the Wales China Schools Project (funded by the British Council and Welsh Government). The Institute also teaches on University programmes and Continuing Professional Education (CPE) courses and in the community. Alongside teaching activities the Institute promotes chinese culture. A highlight for me was running a Chinese New Year event at Cardiff Central Library which was attended by over 600 members of the public. Show less
