      Student Assistant for Intercultural Programs

At Florida State University, I served as a Student Assistant for Intercultural Programs where I successfully bridged the gap between domestic and international students. My role involved organizing intercultural experiences and events focused on specific countries, such as Nigeria, Iran, Thailand, Sicily, and Lebanon. Additionally, I planned the International Bazaar, which is the biggest event hosted by the Center for Global Engagement that attracts over 300 people from the Tallahassee community. I also worked in a team setting, performing office tasks and communicating with individuals from different countries. Through this position, I gained valuable experience in intercultural communication and helping international students adjust to American culture. Show less

      Oct 2020 - Jul 2022

As an experienced K-5 teacher, I have delivered effective instruction in reading, math, science, social studies, unique skills, and intervention. I have worked with a diverse range of students, including those with visual impairments and English Language Learners, using both the Expanded Core Curriculum and Common Core State Standards. I have created and managed IEPs to define student learning objectives and educational strategies, and redirected students using Positive Behavior Support (PBS). Additionally, I have reviewed curriculum and devised alternate approaches to presenting lessons to increase student understanding and engagement. I prioritize cultivating connections and strong student rapport to foster classroom engagement, while also recording student progress to inform parents and school administration.
