Converted a traditional 30 hour MA/MAT in Art Education into a rigorous, and innovative 36 hour totally online MA/MAT in Art Education. It was approved by the university curriculum committee and Academic Vice President in the fall of 2006. I Designed all 8 online courses. Using the Blackboard LMS I created the visual interface, structure, content, syllabi, structure, assignments, teaching and learning strategies and evaluation components. Taught, continuously revised and enhanced each course on a rotating 2 year schedule. The program was a rigorous, student-focused program that I Coordinated and taught until the fall of 2017 This program established the university’s foothold for a totally online MA & MAT degree program and therefore, was able to compete effectively with other long-standing well respected master’s programs in Art Education in Texas.Streamlined and revised the Undergraduate Program in Art Education, allowing the Department to upgrade and replace the BA Art Education with the BFA Art Education degree, a more widely respected and recognized professional degree.Created and taught an interactive, student-centered, elementary art education course (Art 3032) for pre-service Elementary Education majors for 10 years. The course integrated core subjects with the visual arts, and integrated technology, critical thinking, collaboration and problem-solving components using a Blackboard LMS. This creative and meaningful work consisted of designing the curriculum, syllabus, Blackboard interface, designing art activities/assignments, quizzes, assessments, syllabus, online resources, as well as, participating actively in a discussion board. It was challenging yet thrilling work. Show less
