A market estimated globally in excess of $100M and growing.Regional responsibility for the General Mining market sector (non-alumina) in Asia Pacific (~$50M sales), around market management activities, including product development and launch activities and marketing communications. Always with a focus on the customer, and their developing or changing needs.Undertake new business development work and strategic marketing investigations. Identifying new needs within the marketplace, either a products, solution or new market sector was a key part of the role so Nalco could be set up for the future. I would then work with global marketing and R&D groups, to innovate new products/solutions in existing and new sectors of the mining market in Asia Pacific. Market and sales analysis, including gross margin and profitability management Working end to end with all levels of supply chain management from identifying and sourcing new raw materials (make or Management, coaching, understanding and mentoring of customer facing technical staff, regional marketing staff reports (Australia, India, China) and field sales personnel, using skills learnt and practiced as part of training, so that there was a team work mentality and engagement with the business.Achievements• Launched Orebind (later rebranded as WaterShed) into the tailings treatment market, grew to US$4M product line in three years with over 6% gross margin improvement to similar products sold elsewhere in the market• Released a new coal flotation product line, which became the largest specialty flotation reagent for coal in ANZ, worth $5M plus at 50% gross margin in three years.• In four years to 2018 managed market sector to grow by over 10% and improved margin by 2.5% gross margin points Show less
