  As the Human and Legal Rights Coordinator, I co-chair and assist with facilitation of the Nebraska Human and Legal Rights Advisory Committee (HLRAC). The HLRAC helps ensure the rights of the participants of the Developmental Disability (DD) Waiver services are protected by reviewing and providing consultation on rights restrictions. We also recently developed an option to standardize storage and data entry for DD agency provider rights review committee information. My role includes reviewing a sampling of those monthly entries for compliance and quality improvement opportunities, as well as potential referrals for the HLRAC to review. I also develop and conduct educational presentations and materials about the HLRAC and rights restrictions. I collaborate with my team members to execute employee engagement and team building activities for our Nebraska team. I attend monthly quality improvement committee meetings and assist with internal quality improvement and quality assurance activities. Part of my role on this committee involved assisting with recent updates to our Quality Improvement Management Plan. Show less
