  The Donald Smits Center for Information Technology, Groningen (Olanda) www.rug.nlI was involved with:♦ Setting up a virtualization system (processor based) for the Groningen data center using various systems (Proxmox, SolusVM, VMware);♦ The complete virtualization system, with Windows, Linux and FreeBSD in a KVM and XEN system; ♦ Creating an interactive panel with pre-installed OSs, that allowed virtual machines to be created in under 5 minutes;♦ Developing a distributed system for big data flows using Hadoop, Ceph and GlusterFS.♦ Testing the three data distribution systems by conducting benchmark tests, fail-safe tests at a server, rack and cluster level;♦ Writing up the project documentation and best practice work methods.
