      For over ten years I was a Program Coordinator with the Grants Department at the New York City District Council of Carpenters Training Center where we implemented a non-profit program called BuildingWorks with a mission to prepare unemployed, underrepresented, and low-income men and women for careers in the unionized construction trades.-Provided administrative support to the Grants Manager and collaborated with departmental staff on supervising the daily operations of the BuildingWorks Pre-Apprenticeship Training Program.-Collected employment and salary data from program graduates through proactive outreach and personal engagement to support National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences grants and local grant proposals.-Functioned as the Grants Department’s main point of contact for general phone calls and responded to public inquiries in person, on the phone, and through email, along with principal customer service responsibilities.-Corresponded with community-based organizations to develop and implement recruitment strategies, and conducted applicant assessments, testing, and interviews. -Served as liaison between management and instructors during off-site volunteer projects, ordered training supplies and protective equipment, and assisted teachers with classroom activities and technical support.-Produced all marketing materials for the Grants Department including recruitment flyers and event advertisements, and promoted the building trades and union apprenticeships at citywide career fairs.-Coordinated alumni networking events and independently managed the BuildingWorks social media accounts on Facebook and Twitter.
