      Project manager for “PC for Every Home” initiative

      PC for every home project was a governmental initiative in which government through MCIT with Misr and Ahly banks afforded a very easy, simple and inexpensive way to have a computer by taking a loan from any one of the two banks with thee guarantee of land telephone line (Cooperation with Egypt Telecom).The loan was used to buy the computer from about 27 registered companies; these companies had to go through quality assurance steps in order to be registered with the initiative.The initiative made a very big success in letting about 300000 family have a computer and all means were used to achieve that goal like making a professional advertising campaign in television and making a lot of fairs in universities and all governorates. Principal duties and responsibility:• Business process tracking and development. • Preparing project document.• Following up the implementation of the project.• Preparing the required technical reports.• Working on the marketing and advertising campaign plan for the initiative with “Advantage” company.       Ministry of communication and information technology has an important role in almost all national automation and digital transformation projects in Egypt, this role extends from consultations up to delivering turnkey solutions to other governmental and national organizations, projects & IT resources department is responsible mainly of H/W resources management and project management from the H/W side.Principal duties and responsibility:• Planning and Developing the Project Idea with the beneficiary organization.• Creating and leading the responsible team from different H/W departments like Networks, security, servers, storage, … • Determining all H/W needs and specs and making a budgetary of them.• Making a market survey and getting offers from companies in the field.• Studying technical and financial offers to choose the best Financially/Technically offers for different items. • Monitor Project Progress and Set Deadlines for H/W delivery to cope with S/W and applications needs for the whole project. • Solving issues that arise with all stakeholder in the project.• Ensure Stakeholder Satisfaction. • Evaluate Project Performance and take needed actions.• Managing SLA between beneficiary entity and implementing companies.• Managing team responsible for:o High level designs (HLDs), RFPs writing, proposals evaluation, SLA following up for end user equipment like servers, personal computers, laptops, printers, scanners, plotters…o Determining business vision and governmental needs with the major vendors like: IBM – hp – Dell EMC – Fujitsu – Toshiba – Xerox – Lenovo – Samsung – Epson – OKI – APC• Managing the department internally througho Regular meetings o Training planso Evaluation and appraisals• Managing the distribution of Information Technology Resources between MCIT employees inside all its branches.
