  Activities and Societies: Student Mentoring: In my third year I volunteered as a mentor, aiming to aid in the transition of new undergraduates from college to university. The scheme was composed of meetings in which it was necessary to create presentations, talk through problems, and convey ideas professionally but engagingly. Making the transition from college to university a little bit easier was incredibly rewarding and helpful in developing my skills. Key Skills: Leadership, Presenting, Professionalism, Organisation My studies at York St John University in history was exceedingly broad - stemming from Ancient Rome to the revolutions of the 19th century. By looking at such a large spectrum of time I was able to identify the area which most interested me, and recognise my research methods. I achieved a first in my dissertation, focusing on the ideas of chivalry within the Chandos Heralds poem surrounding the life of the Black Prince, Edward of Woodstock.
