      • WASH in Schools – Visit High Schools in Mumias West Sub-County to educate the students on personal hygiene, menstrual hygiene, handwashing, drugs and substance abuse, early teenage pregnancies, Sexual Transmitted Diseases, HIV. • Conducting community Lead Total Sanitation (CLTS) to promote Open Defecation Free community. • Water quality – inspection of community protected springs, water sampling from community water points for testing and analysis, distribute water treatment tablets to households. • Health education and promotion- Educate the Community Health Volunteers (CHVs) on home remedies to ensure quality drinking water (boiling), malaria (endemic disease in the area), rodent and vermin control. • Food hygiene – Inspect food premises to ensure compliance with the food hygiene provisions by Public Health Act CAP 242 Laws of Kenya. • Infection Prevention and Control – Distribute Insecticide Treated Mosquito Nets (ITNs) to pregnant mothers in the MCH and households. • Community WASH promotion - Mobilized the community members to barazas to educate them on various WASH areas including water treatment methods at household level, maintenance of water points, getting grievances especially women and girls on access of water points, etc. • Vector and rodent control – Participated in fumigation of households infested with bedbugs.
