  I collaborated with other project members to discuss and create an exhibition surrounding the "Lost then Found" Crucifix in the Fine Arts Center's Collection. Throughout the year we asked questions currently facing museums around the world; what does it mean for our museum to own and display this piece, how do we honor its complex history and our role in that history, and how do we do elevate certain voices and communities that have been excluded from the discussion? With a very limited amount of information known about the object, we turned to connecting with members of the hispanic and catholic communities, and scientific analysis of the piece, to put together the exhibit and figure out where the crucifix's home was. We created an exhibit surrounding community voices to tell the many stories of the crucifix and its role in their lives. The crucifix will be returned to Mexico this summer. My main role in the effort was leading the community engagement team to conduct interviews and connect with people in the Colorado Springs and Queretaro, Mexico community. Show less
