Freedom for Girls is a program by HEART through which over 300,000 school-going adolescent girls have received the much-needed menstrual hygiene kits and training on appropriate menstrual hygiene management techniques and puberty to help keep them in school. As a part of my role in this program, I; -Developed a training manual for teachers implementing this training in schools. This manual provided clear and comprehensive instructions on how to implement the training, including information on the curriculum, teaching methods, and materials needed. -Additionally, I developed and implemented an inventory system for the organization to manage and track the distribution of sanitary towel packages.-I also formed and maintained successful relationships with a diverse range of organizations, government ministries, implementing partners, and consultants. These partnerships were instrumental in the successful implementation of the menstrual hygiene management program in over 300 schools across Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda.-I also engaged in monitoring and evaluation of the program's impact, which provided valuable insights into the effectiveness of the training and allowed for adjustments to be made as needed.-I also collaborated with partners and stakeholders in the menstrual hygiene management sphere for learning and sharing of knowledge which helped to improve the overall effectiveness of the program. -I made sure that the program runs seamlessly and that clients and partners were kept abreast of new information and development in the menstrual hygiene management sphere. Communications and events manager

As the communication and events manager, I worked closely with senior management to create communication strategies and content in line with global themes. This involved;-Developing a communication strategy that aligned with the organization's overall goals and messaging, and that effectively communicated the organization's work and impact to a wide range of audiences. -I created a variety of content, including written articles, videos, infographics, social media posts, and more, that were distributed across different platforms. I also made sure that the content was visually appealing and engaging, and that it effectively communicated key messages and calls to action.-I also managed an editorial calendar that outlined the themes and content for the organization's communication. This helped to ensure that the content was consistent and aligned with the organization's overall messaging, and that it was distributed in a timely manner.-I was also responsible for the coordination of media content and assets with the teams globally to ensure the continuity of the message and brand.-I spearheaded the planning, execution, and post-event follow-up of important events, including fundraisers, staff training, beneficiary graduations, and corporate meetings. I also made sure that all events were executed seamlessly and to the highest standards, and followed up with relevant parties to ensure that they were satisfied with the outcome.-I served as the primary photographer and videographer for the team and developed and managed a photo and video asset database. I made sure that all photos and videos captured were of high quality and accurately represented the organization's work. I also developed a photo release policy for the organization that is still in use today, to ensure that the organization was in compliance with relevant laws and regulations. Show less
