  I was a Teacher's Assistant for CMN 4920, Case Studies in Public Relations. This position allowed me to sit in on class days, observe the students engagement in the subject of Public Relations, hold office hours once a week to further assist students currently in the class and focus on two subjects of my choosing to then teach about for one hour sessions. I was given the opportunity to be in a professor's setting while still being an undergraduate student and grow through the learning process of understanding the Excellence Theory and its various models as well as teach students on the importance of Image Repair. Show less In just my first semester as an Eastern Illinois Student, I became the Communications Coordinator for Taylor Hall as well as Homecoming chair for Taylor Hall. I was also elected as Secretary for my sorority, Alpha Sigma Alpha, where I served as a member of the executive committee along with managing the Community Service Chair and serving on numerous committees such as attire and selection committee for Fall 2014 Recruitment.My growth has since continued at Eastern Illinois University where I took on more challenging leadership roles and learned to balance social and academic life. I have held other positions in my sorority and have lead on two other executive boards for PRSSA and Lambda Pi Eta. I have had the wonderful experience of studying abroad in New Zealand and Australia for 33 days out of my summer and I will finish my college career as a Teacher's Assistant for a Public Relations related course.   I served as the Summer 2016 intern at the CarMax Home Office learning public relations and communication skills necessary for a professional career. I was responsible for working on daily news searches, weekly press releases, Celebration articles, transcribing videos, and attending team meetings to coordinate social media posts and crisis situations. In addition to writing, I created media lists of reporters for Grand Opening ceremonies while using Cision and Excel programs.
