    • Community youth concepts

      Aug 2008 - Jul 2021
      Executive director and co-founder

Community Youth Concepts is a mission-driven agency specializing in positive youth development programming, adult and youth training, and technical assistance. CYC offers a variety of services to youth-serving entities including staff development, program management, group facilitation, youth training, and organizational development. CYC also provides several services to youth, including the Teen Outreach Program, a service-learning program grounded in evidence-based best practices, a middle and high school mentoring program, a high school youth philanthropy board called uVoice, and several other stand alone groups specifically tailored to school needs. We meet youth where they are by understanding their motivations and using those to connect them to the community in pro-social ways. Through our direct service work and our training of adults in best practices, we decrease risk and increase protective factors that help youth be successful in school, work, and life.My role has been to cultivate the growth of the organization overseeing both capital campaigns, policy development, grants and fiscal management, board management, HR elements, donor relations, and contract relationships. I am responsible for building the Stowe Heights Challenge Course, the only high and low ropes course that is ADA accessible in the Midwest. This course is open to groups of youth and adults looking for team-building, experiential opportunities. Show less
