  As specialist in the field of drug delivery I have been using microparticle devices as vehicle for anti-inflammatory agents in chronic inflammatory processes. My focus was on multi drug applications by the layer-by-layer technique benefiting from synergistic effects. During my postdoctorate I could follow up with our successful project investigating the influence of chronic inflammatory processes on spermatozoa quality.

  I have been using nano- and microparticle devices (liposomes, layer-by-layer particles and -capsules) as vehicle for anti-inflammatory agents in chronic inflammatory processes. My focus was the application in the post-operative scar-tissues of glaucoma patients avoiding strong inflammatory responses and extensive scarring.

  As Journal Editor of "Nanocarriers" (DeGruyter) I was supporting open-access publications in the growing field of delivery systems in the nanometer range. Nanocarriers is the first open-access international journal devoted to the rapid publication of papers of broad significance and high originality in this field.
