      I was employed as one of five supervisors for students employed as dormitory security. I was responsible for information and security for both students and visitors. I was promoted to Head Desk Assistant in 2002, managing payroll and manual time keeping for subordinate desk assistants. I was responsible for bi-monthly desk assistant meetings, during which these and other issues could be addressed. Additional tasks included customer service; answering phones and reporting accidents and security violations. I issued hand written guest passes for any non-resident students or visitors. This program is administered by Japan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs in cooperation with local governments. I was tasked with creating original English lesson plans and team teaching with Japanese peers to deliver 13 lessons per week to freshman through senior students. I served as the only non-Japanese member of a 9-person team. I assisted the Japanese Teachers of English (JTE) in teaching English as a Foreign Language to 650 Japanese high school students. I utilized Microsoft Power Point to create presentations to be used in weekly lessons and Microsoft Word to create worksheets, tests and other types of student evaluation. In addition to my teaching duties, I was in charge of the English Speaking Society (ESS) club activity. I held weekly meetings which gave the students greater exposure to my country and culture. I served as the native English speaker for editing correspondence for the Japanese Teachers of English and the school itself.
