      Responsible for five sales associates. Grew Pro Desk department key accounts from 45 to 65, grew revenue from $4 Million to $5.2 Million; all during the current home construction & remodeling recession that started in 2008. In addition to the recession issue, the challenge to growing B2B sales was motivating the sales associates. Focused on several areas to achieve growth: updating sales team's sales skills to consultative business style relationships with customers, expanded team's use of email ordering and understanding of how to use Home Depot credit, profitably. Joined the salesperson on calls to increase the odds of making the sale. Functioned in a supportive role, but ready to take the lead when necessary. Evaluated the salesperson's skills in getting the order and offered valuable tips for making the call more successful. Provided suggestions for improvement and proposed alternative approaches when current methods were ineffective. Created unique, to my store, merchandising floor plans that created impulse purchases; next created contractor order staging areas that allowed for contractors to spend less time in store picking up orders and fewer returned trips to get what they needed, thus resulting in both a higher satisfaction level and larger share of contractor's business.
