    • Merind Limited

      Aug 1995 - Aug 1998
      Manager - Human Resources

Worked as a HR generalist and looked after staffing, training and development, compensation and benefits. Samir executed workshops called "Knitting Together" to help people work better. These had a teaming as well as a business Goals oriented theme. Samir also executed some of the most unique "Outward Bound Learning" (OBL) programs. Participants were taken away to these remote places without any access to civilization. The attempt was to simulate the work environment in an alien land and get people to learn from each other. Samir executed a unique practice called "People Audit". This was a process where the Strategic Leadership Team would get together to review and approve the compensation proposals. Every Business presented its top 20 and bottom 10 performers with recommendations for action. These were critiqued by the other team members and were normalized. The practice was considered much ahead of time in the industry at that poin in time. Show less

      General Manager - Human Resource

I joined TI when it was a comparatively a smaller organization of about 350 people. I consider myself fortunate because TI gave me a platform to practice my skills in a variety of areas. Be it Recruitment, People Development, Organizational Development, setting up of systems and processes, working with people one on one, conceptualizing, designing, developing and executing variety of training programs, working on compensation and benefits, working on communication to employees, it made me a stronger professional. I have only fond memories of working at TI.The other unique thing about me as a professional is that at TI, I always got a chance to play dual role. One of a Business HR Manager for a line/s of buisness and the other one was of a specialist in Training and Development. This made me more able to take on challenges outside of TI. Show less
