  This was an experience of a life time with learning opportunities in a microcosm that I would have never received anywhere else. The opportunity to manage several different concepts on one piece of property was a gift. From the 51 room Inn where every room overlooks the Blue Ridge Mountains, the fine dining Restaurant that served breakfast, lunch, and dinner to thousands and thousands of travelers every year, the Artisan Gift Shop, the Country Store...not to mention the 150+ employees at any given time where half lived on property in housing was incredible. I was also the sole buyer for all of the products in our Retail department from the bag of popcorn to the design on the T-shirt’s- what a gift! One of my biggest accomplishments was bringing the Retail department from a $600,000+ annual business to reaching just shy of a MILLION dollar business in less than seven months with smart merchandise and coached employees engaged in the process. Being that this property is part of the National Park Service I worked closely with Federal and State Park Rangers on a weekly basis- adhering to strict policies and procedures as we were a concessioner on the Blue Ridge Parkway.   Multi-Unit Manager of eight different Dunkin Donut and Baskin Robins Restaurants- different concepts between Next Gen, Drive Thru, Lobby only and combo units. Bringing a district in line with the four legs of operation- Sales, Labor, Food and GLP- in an under performing District was difficult at times but with the right teams in the right places focused on the immediate areas of attacking with incremental gains in the right direction it was a reward to watch the red go to blue and goals being met- personally absolutely but for the managers in place that was the reward! Developing units- hiring General Managers and Assistants- hiring smiling faces, staying consistent- this was key to success. Show less
