      •Assisting and actively participating in the running of the surface meteorological and atmospheric research projects assigned by the marine section of South African Weather Services.• Conducting timely Atmospheric observations as per schedule• Collection and quality control of manual rainfall station• Performing surface meteorological observations, conducting upper-air balloon releases, and maintaining and verifying all equipment at the remote station of Marion Island• Conducting quality control of data and report writing when required by the senior meteorological technician.• Assisting other team members with logistical and administrative tasks associated with the general running of the base.• Conducting all duties in accordance with the rules, regulations and standards as set out by the South African Weather Services.
