Freemans operates several online stores serving around one million customers every year from it’s operations in Bradford.I was an integral part of the strategic development team delivering double digit growth in the Distribution Centre, moving from an in-house function to a true shared service environment with significant third party logistics business, providing business unit guidance, developing business growth strategy and organisational design activities as well as looking after operational HR issues in our 1m sq ft warehouse operation.Other projects included:• Developed business area strategy and structure for Warehousing, Logistics and Laser Mailing Services• Responsible for successful TUPE of 302 employees from FGH to Serco and 43 employees from Ventura to FGH both on time and to budget• Designed new organisation structure for full facility - Headcount cost saving £780,000 Developed the roll out and maintenance of key business strategies including culture change, communication and performance management all within a unionized environment• Implemented continuous improvement methodology and with the management team achieved a standard delivery rate of 1.8 days consistently from a previous average of 2.7 days placement of order to receiving goods Show less

      A FTSE 250 Company with over 16,000 employees and £2.3bn revenue Greencore Group plc is a leading international manufacturer of convenience foodsI was responsible for the design and presentation of a feasibility study on the opportunities for organisational redesign to influence the scope of a future signification reorganisation, identifying over £5m cost saving opportunities. This project supported an indirect labour headcount reduction of 15% and the design and implementation of a model factory structure within the Food to Go division (9000 employee, £180m turnover business).Other projects included:• Full delivery network upgrade including the commissioning of a 160k sq. ft facility with a projected people impact of over 800 heads either new hires, relocations or redundancies• Full delivery of a category upgrade project involving a full end to end program from new product development to product packaging and delivery. This project is also examining factory capability and scoping a new factory build should capacity be exceeded• Delivery of Greencore’s new performance appraisal system into Direct to Store including associated OD and role profiles changes and rewrites• Organisation design project to integrate all Greencore Logistics into a single business unit• Re-contracting of Direct to Store temporary labour service provision• The business change elements of a programme of transitioning the Logistics business unit from a completely paper based operation to a full end to end technology driven solution. • The leadership for all HR aspects of the purchase and transfer of a new business and supported integration• The business change elements for Direct to Store HQ and Sheffield Depot move into a new 110K sq ft facility• The people change aspects of implementing a new customer that will bring an additional 75m sandwiches per year into the Direct to Store operation Show less
