  Chairperson of Bellefontaine Tree Commission responsibilities include: Develop yearly business plan for city's urban forest. Provide leadership in selection, promotion, planting and care of trees in our urban forest. Partner with Joint Parks and and Recreation to develop community activities. Work with the Bellefontaine Street Dept. to identify hazardous trees. Work with community businesses in regards to the urban forest. Educate city residents on the benefits of trees for the communityPlan and implement Arbor Day events. Attend community service groups and businesses and educate them on the importance of trees in the community. Post articles in the local newspaper on tree related issues.Personally recognized as one of the "Faces of Urban Forestry" in 2014 by the Arbor Day Foundation and U.S. Forest Service. Show less
