  Creating, improving and maintaining content for the website www.catharina-de-rijke.de with TYPO3 software. The dutch painter Catharina de Rijke lives in the Rhineland and works in Cologne, Leverkusen, Berlin and Brussels. She studied design in Delft and art history in Paris, graduating in 1981. Of course the coastal-born painter loves the sea and the vastness of space, and many of her paintings revolve around the relationship between water and land.

  Divemaster apprenticeship while working as tutor for scuba diving beginners at the university sports center of the University of Cologne. I supervised activities such as pool courses and open water courses on a weekly basis and I specialized in apnea diving. Moreover, I lead dive groups during day and night dives of up to six students during university vacations in the mediterranean sea.   I carried out my master research project in the TOPIOS (Tracking of Plastic in Our Seas) research group at the Institute for Marine and Atmospheric research Utrecht (IMAU). The work focused on relating surface to subsurface microplastic movement in the North Atlantic and I used the Parcels software, a set of Python classes and methods. My work was supervised by Erik van Sebille and Philippe Delandmeter.

  I am working on the detection of essential climate variables (like sea surface salinity and temperature) at the sea surface. The objective is to assess the significance of satellite-based measurements of essential climate variables at the sea surface in coastal waters of the North Sea. The North Sea as a shelf sea is particularly sensitive to the impacts of climate change.
