      Volunteered to illustrate a book depicting the real story of a class of students who gained national recognition on Good Morning America for organizing an annual fundraiser to raise money for different non-profit organizations including Stand Up to Cancer, Friends of Karen, and the Boomer Esiason Foundation through various sports activities on a “Sports Day” at the high school in the North Rockland School District. Demonstrated strong written, oral and interpersonal communication skills while working with teachers, other students, and professionals in the publication industry about specifications of publishing the book through face to face meetings, phone calls, emails, and text messages. Utilized Handwriting Without Tears Educational Program and Screening Tools. Wrote individual goals for students based on their abilities. Organized and collected data to measure success while meeting Medicaid and IEP deadlines. Completed occupational therapy evaluations, wrote reports, wrote progress notes, and wrote Individual Education Plans for students in this pediatric setting. Completed a final project which fostered positivity by having students complete a random act of kindness, give out "pay it forward" cards, come up with things they are grateful for/happy about, writing positive self affirmations, and participating in activities during therapy that are found by research to increase self efficacy, such as "Bal-A-Vis-X". Facilitated therapy services to 9 clients per day with upper extremity diagnoses of the hand and elbow including lateral epicondylitis, medial epicondylitis, arthritis, fractures, DeQuervain’s syndrome, Dupuytren’s contracture, multiple sclerosis, stroke, myocitis, carpal tunnel and more. Interventions completed in this setting included Ultrasound, Electric Stimulation, Kinesiotaping, Massage, Graston, Stretching, Nerve Glides, Chinese Cupping, Joint Mobilization, Exercise Programming, Desensitization Techniques, and observed Dry Needling. Fabricated thermoplastic splints to assist with mobilization, pain management, and to increase range of motion. Assisted patients with returning to normal activities by simulating and modifying everyday tasks including writing, vacuuming, eating food, getting dressed, typing, lifting objects and more. Viewed X-ray imaging. Utilized a home safety checklist and suggested modifications to maintain client independence. Wrote client-centered goals and documented with the use of Meditech and billing units for insurance purposes. Observed 6 hand surgeries including a Trapeziectomy, ORIF Distal Radius Hardware Removal, Ulnar Nerve Transposition, Carpal Tunnel Release, Trigger Finger Release, and a UCL Ligament Reconstruction at Exeter Hospital.
