The intention of this project was to devise a simple method to synthesize good quality graphene oxide, with kerosene soot as a precursor. The precursor was subjected to three different treatments, and a comparative study was done to determine which method gives optimal yield. The resulting samples were characterized using X-ray powder diffraction, UV-visible spectroscopy, FTIR spectroscopy, and impedance analysis.

      Apr 2018 - May 2018
      Project Intern

A brief introduction to finite difference approximations and how they can be implemented to solve a few well-known problems. This was followed up by hyperbolic conservation laws, using which, a few approximation schemes were developed for non-linear cases.

      Jan 2020 - Aug 2021
      Pre-Doctoral Fellow

My work during this period involved studying infinitesimal deformations of curves and surfaces. The changes in geometry affected by these deformations were made precise by establishing a relationship between the new and resultant curvatures. This was done in the spirit of synthetic differential geometry.

    • Cactus Communications

      Jul 2020 - Dec 2021
      Freelance Editor

Worked as an academic editor in the Computer Science, Mathematics and Physics department. Articles and conference papers were edited for language and technical consistency, mostly within the domain of machine learning and applied mathematics. By way of editing and proofreading, acquired a perspective of the research landscape in various sub-fields. The preferences of all the clients could be very diverse, ranging from simple language editing, to suggesting appropriate terminology, revising structure and checking for technical consistency. Although quite challenging, I maintained a high quality-index on all my assignments. Show less
