  ResponsibilitiesA study was conducted to understand trade and non-trade barriers to coffee trade in Burundi, supported by European union project called MARKUP. I was subcontracted by a team of consultants from University of Burundi to carry out following responsibilities: Review of the questionnaire, establishment of survey protocol, train enumerators and supervise the survey. The survey was conducted in 7 provinces namely Muramvya, Mwaro, Gitega, Rutana, Bururi, Makamba, Rumonge. After field survey, data were analyzed and reported. Show less

  I had a responsibility of conceiving and review tools for data collection (Kobo Collect and ODK), and supervise different field Surveys and studies :1. In a joint project by CAPAD/IITA to establish a Banana Platform in Burundi, a survey had to be conducted in 4 Provinces namely Cibitoke, Kayanza, Ngozi, Muyinga to understand how different actors are organized and existing opportunity and challenge in each phase of banana value chain.2. Organize, train enumerators on the use of the data collection tool (ODK) and supervise data collection to carry out a maize yield gap study in 5 provinces including Cibitoke, Bubanza, Bujumbura, Rumonge and Makamba; including data processing, analysis and presentation of results.3. Organize, train enumerators on the use of the data collection tool (ODK) and supervise data collection to carry out a study of the maize value chain in all provinces of Burundi, including data processing , analysis and presentation of results.4. Organize, train enumerators on the use of Data Collection Tool (ODK) and supervise data collection to carry out a feasibility and market study of Aflasafe in all Provinces.5. Help students funded by the project in the preparation of their research projects, the development of data collection tools (KoBoCollect and ODK), and introduce them to data analysis software (Stata, Spss, Excel) .
