  Discipline. Honor. Respect. Loyalty. Commitment. These qualities can be learned anywhere in life, but these were instilled in me so deep and true during my time in the US Air Force. Graduating the Security Police Academy in Lackland AFB, San Antonio, TX with Highest Honors, I continued on to Infantry Training with the US Army Rangers in Fort Dix, NJ. There I enhanced my team-building skills, learning that more can be accomplished as a team, rather than alone. I was finally stationed at Davis-Monthan AFB, Tucson, AZ with the 355th Security Police Squadron as Law Enforcement (LE) for the Base. There I conducted standard Law Enforcement patrols and duties, security details, and even was commissioned by the Security Police Squadron Commander to paint numerous large-scale murals throughout the headquarters and SP dormitory that remain to this day.   Fire Protection Designer

  Began my career in Fire Protection and AutoCAD work @ Sun Mechanical under the teutillage of Harvey Voss, a NICET Level IV, and Harvey Brown, now Tucson Fire Dept. engineering plans examiner. Designed 2 years worth of tenant improvements, learning the trade on site visits/surveys, even spent 5 months in the field installing a sprinkler system I designed months prior. Developed and installed Sun Mechanical's very first Network, and was the resident IT/computer professional during my time there. Major projects include designing fire protection systems for: Park Place Mall and 20+ tenants, Century Theaters Park Place, Century Theaters El Con, TPC Mariott Hotel and Golf Resort, and numerous Raytheon Missile Systems facilities including a full survey for As-Builts in bldg. 801 done on-site via laptop with daily uploads to Raytheon.   Designed fire protection systems for hospitals, schools, government buildings, DOD, aircraft hangers, fire pump houses, mulit-level residential housing, University of Arizona,. System design ranged everywhere from basic wet pipe sprinkler systems, to ESFR systems in warehouses, to High Expansion Foam systems in aircraft hangars. Managed a team of up to 5 designers, initiating training, maintaining protocols, and developing standards and procedures to make the design department run more efficiently than it had in the company's 30+ year history. Most importantly, spearheaded the design department into new territories of design, allowing for the company to expand into fields of construction that had never been entertained before, thus allowing them to maintain validity in the Fire Protection industry within the Southwest.   Project Manager / Fire Protection Specialist

  After 16 years of design experience behind the computer, I've traded my mouse for a spec book and an RFP. Project Management is a much different beast than design, but I look forward to learning more about this specific field in depth with Adams & Associates. Here I also assist Stan Adams, FPE with daily fire protection needs, along with reviewing fire protection submittals, shop drawings, calculations, etc. as an ITR. Site visits for finals are common, along with initial project walk-through's. As a member of the staff, I've also been tasked with organizing the systems here, just as I did for Kazal Fire Protection – streamlining, standardizing, to make everything more efficient for the user. I’m very excited for what the future has in store for me with Adams & Associates. Show less
