      Research Internship in ECE

Investigated in "Origin of Negative Capacitance in LEDs and Semiconductor Laser Diodes and its Device Applications" during this summer project. All actual circuit elements such as inductors, diodes, and transistors have internal capacitance, which can cause their behavior to depart from that of 'ideal' circuit elements. If negative capacitance is generated to be parallel with a positive capacitance, they would have cancelling effects since the total current flowing through them is the difference of the two. We have demonstrated this parasitic capacitance cancellation. Show less

      Physics Research Internship

During this Summer Research Internship I investigated on "Doppler-free saturated Absorption Laser Spectroscopy of Rubidium Atoms".• In this project, we have studied and performed the Doppler-free saturated absorption Laserspectroscopy using an external cavity diode laser along with a Fabry-Perot Interferometer. We implemented the rubidium vapor as the sample and observe the 87 D2 line hyperfine spectrums andcalculated the energy gap between those hyperfine levels. We also have studied the effect of magnetic field in the hyperfine level and discussed the possible reasons for that. Show less

      Master's Degree in Physics

I completed my masters in IISER, Kolkata under Prof. Nirmalya Ghosh. Here I investigated on quantum weak measurements and its optical analogue. My main accomplishments here are:• The optical analogue of quantum weak measurements has shown considerable promise for the amplification and observation of tiny optical beam shifts, namely Goos–Hänchen (GH) and Imbert–Fedorov (IF) shifts. We demonstrated simultaneous weak value amplification of both the angular GH and the IF shifts in partial reflection of a fundamental Gaussian beam at planar dielectric interfaces for the first time. We employ pre and post-selection schemes with appropriate linear polarization basis states for simultaneous weak measurements and amplification of both of these shifts.• Published 2 papers in peer reviewed journals which received 70+ citations till now. Graduate Research Assistant

I am Graduate Research Assistant in Department of Physics at Purdue University under Prof. Mahdi Hosseini with 5+ years of research experience in Photonic Integrated Circuit design, fabrication and characterization for quantum computing. My main accomplishments during my PhD are:• Set up cryogenic systems at 4K, photon detection systems with single-photon detectors and the imaging system. Build the experimental system to characterize nano-photonic structures with optical fiber to chip coupling (70%) using nano-positioners. • Used electron beam lithography (EBL) tool to create micro-resonator structures in SiN after spin coating an electron-beam resist (HSQ) over the sample. Used Optical lithography to create U-shaped grooves to minimize the mechanical vibration of the optical fibers using Su-8 as negative photoresist.• By designing 1000 atomic arrays of Erbium ions at 20nm precision, we were the first group to show loss reduction of quantum emitters by 50% in solid state photonics system.• Experimentally created atomic mirror in crystal with random doped ions by novel hole-burning technique. Achieved unprecedented 20% reflection from this atomic mirror device development.• We also integrated the Erbium implanted Lithium Niobate (LN) crystal with the Si-SiN photonic chip with waveguide and resonator structures using the direct bonding technique and observe the evanescent mode coupling between the emission mode of Er atoms in the LN crystal and Si-SiN waveguide and cavity modes. • Published scientific research findings in 8 peer reviewed journals and 4 conference proceedings.
