I was also tasked with updating worksheets with immediate plan changes and booking staff for work as well as reporting any issues directly to my line manager. Other duties involved working on the production line and operating machines.Working in the role has taught me how to be professional at work and communicate effectively with a range of people, it has also improved my skills in multi-tasking and working under pressure. Jul 2018 - Aug 2018Research work experienceDuring my summer holidays I have spent a month working in the synthetic chemistry laboratory within School of Pharmacy gaining additional experience as a voluntary position, thanks to the courtesy of my programme leader Dr Tobias Gruber. During this time I learned advanced synthetic chemistry methods and use of machinery/equipment in the lab. I was tasked with carrying out my supervisor’s projects involving a multistep chemical synthesis and analysis of the obtained data using variety of analytical, spectroscopy and chromatography methods. I improved my confidence in the independent work within laboratory setting and the use of wide array of equipment. I further developed transferrable skills such as problem solving, critical evaluation, writing lab notes. I also developed strong understanding and appreciation of the real-life scientific research. Jul 2019 - Sept 2019Summer internThis research was a 6-week university studentship in the synthetic chemistry laboratory within the School of Pharmacy. This work focused on calixarene research involving derivatisation of these macrocyclic molecules to improve complex formation with smaller guest compounds. This project further developed my laboratory and analytical skills as well as the professional use of variety of lab equipment and writing professional reports. I have continued the calixarene research in my final year project. Show less

Jun 2020 - Aug 2021In this role I have worked as an OPAT (Outpatient Parenteral Antimicrobial Therapy) and Antimicrobial Support team member for the Antimicrobial Pharmacy department at ULH Trust. In this role I helped to co-ordinate OPAT service, providing the team with support by organising patient's IV antibiotic treatment from comfort of their own home, processing relevant documentation, performing statistical analysis and registering data using various software. My duties also include participation in variety of meetings, updating agendas and taking minutes. As a part of Infection Prevention and Control, together with the team I also engaged in Antimicrobial Stewardship initiatives and help to spread awareness regarding the Antimicrobial Resistance as well as promote ways in which we can tackle it.
