  As a fleet mechanic, I am responsible for the maintenance and repair of all park district equipment and vehicles. I determine the necessary preventative maintenance or repairs to complete the job in the most efficient and cost-effective manner. Occasionally, needed parts are no longer available or have an extensive back order, in which I utilize processes of manufacturing and welding to perform the repair. This kind of adaptability is critical to keep my fellow employees on schedule with their assigned tasks. I use time management skills to accomplish daily tasks efficiently and safely, minimizing equipment/vehicle downtime. I try to maintain effective working communication with my fellow employees, so I can clarify complaints and address the repair accordingly.
