      Intern

Intern working at ViaSat on the Blue Force Tracking (BFT) 2 projectWorking on a team with two other interns to develop the managed services portion of the projectThe managed services portion includes writing software that will dynamically request bandwidth from satellite service providers and assign that bandwidth to transceivers. The software must obtain the ideal bandwidth that will keep the transceivers above a minimum level of service while keeping the costs of bandwidth as low as possible. The software will dramatically reduce bandwidth cost by keeping it for much shorter times, as well as reducing acquisition time by automating the acquisition service. The software must also comply to government security standards.Patent Pending on Optimal Bandwidth Allocation Algorithm Show less

      Electrical Engineer Design and Analysis

I have become considered as a go to person within the F-18 community at Boeing for passive RF geolocation techniques and jamming techniques.Throughout my time in this position, I have been responsible for analysis of data collected by the ALR-67(V)3 (Radar Warning Receiver) during F/A-18 E/F flight tests as well as lab tests. My analysis rolse also includes developing simulations to predict performance prior to flight test.My biggest accomplishment was that I developed a revolutionary wingman compatibility analysis tool, leading to an increase in RF compatibility work for Boeing. This tool earned me responsibility of determining most beneficial improvements to the EW sensors to improve wingman compatibility. My customer was so impressed with the tool that they increased the funding and scope of the follow-on contract to do more work with the tool.I am currently leading integration effort for new RF compatibility interfaces between radar warning receiver, self-protect jammer and radar on the F/A-18 E/F. I worked with the E/A-18G community to define a set of Link-16 messages for a passive multiship emitter geolocation demo using the ALR-67(V)3 that would allow for future compatibility with the ALQ-218.I participated in a trade study to quantify the benefits of adding an atomic clock to the F/A-18. My contribution was to characterize the benefits of an atomic clock for passive geolocation to RF emitters. Show less
