      Involved in De Montfort University Formula Student team, DMURacing, to lead the project to design and build a single seater racing vehicle which is then entered into competitive competition at Silverstone immediately following the British Grand Prix. Formula Student is the largest student motorsports event in the world attracting competitors from 140 universities and 40 countries around the globe. Co-ordinated by the IMechE and run to MSA standards.Led the project and over saw the team of 25 – 30 engineers.Involved in the design and build of the vehicle dynamics, specifically the suspension and chassis, which was designed using Susprog3D and Solidworks. Simulated testing using Autodesk Multiphysics.Test driving the finished car at Bruntingthorpe Aerodrome and competition driving at the Formula Student event.Managed the team’s budget of £20K annually and attracted sponsorship of a further £6K by networking with private companies.Construction of vehicle, including turning, machining and welding. Presented the final vehicle to IMechE panel of experts which included the business plan and manufacturing specifications to ensure the car was built to IMechE and MSA standards. Show less
