Must then store wines, beers and other alcoholic beverages in the correct conditions, such as within refrigerators or dry storage areas. Maintain cleanliness of the bar area, mop floors, take out waste and may be required to wash glasses. Upkeep of paperwork detailing stock inventory and forthcoming deliveries. A porter may have to set up the bar prior to opening, and is sometimes required to assist bartenders with serving duties, particularly during busy periods. They may need to mix drinks and prepare garnishes, including slicing fruits to be used within drinks.
