      • Guide management groups in developing an understanding of the Occupational Health and Safety Act to improve its application and enforcement and to ensure company is in compliance with Industrial and Construction Regulations• Provide health and safety consultation to various trade groups to meet their compliance standards within the Occupational Health and Safety Act. Perform regular audits of work procedures and systems including, management of Joint Health and Safety monthly building inspections, quarterly training audits, and quarterly Personal Protective Equipment inventory replenishment and maintenance audits.• Manage the Health and Safety policy of the company, ensure internal responsibility system is enforced and in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act within Industrial and Construction Regulations. Provide solutions and control measures by maintaining and enforcing reporting systems and issuing corrective action plans for health and safety infractions, violations, and incidences within the company. • Manage reporting systems for all accidents and provide support for worker accidents resulting in lost time in the form of consultation and mediation with the company, worker, and the Work Place Safety Insurance Board. Managed and scheduled trades workers belonging to various collective agreements to cohesively work on projects with minimal to no overtime at a “low to none” accident rate.• Created and implemented event production quotes, installation and removal strategies, for events up to $500,000, to support event-managers and show coordinators. The quotes and strategic plans were incorporated into event planning bibles for show managers due to their success in achieving production efficiencies within quoted budget margins.• Enforced quality standards and safety standards for Exhibition Place maintenance workers by creating scheduled auditing programs for skilled certifications, scheduling maintenance programs for heavy machinery and power machinery, and enforcing strict “safe at work” guidelines in the form of pre-operation and pre-work meetings and seminars. As a result, maintenance workers’ certifications and skill sets were maintained and kept up to date, machinery deficiencies were kept to a minimum, and the rate of accidents were reduced. Show less

Strategic production planning provided was used in the creation of an event-planning bible for future interns. • Coordinated Kapisanan’s non-for-profit annual flagship event, Kultura, utilizing multiple facilities including the use of a City of Toronto Public Park as a concert and exhibitor venue. Delegated technical indoor setups and led the outdoor production planning. Utlized resources and volunteers to assemble and remove the event with no accidents and within full compliance of City of Toronto regulations and by-laws for public events. • Designed and implemented an emergency preparedness policy and procedures for Kapisanan’s annual flagship event, Kultura. Developed documents outlining safety protocols and emergency procedures for staff and volunteers, necessary for compliance in order to gain the permit for holding a public event within the City of Toronto. Trained all staff and volunteers on the policies and procedures and enforced a new sense of safety awareness within the non-for-profit organization.       • Developed and facilitated a pilot martial arts workshop for Arnis Canada Inc. The goal was to publicize Filipino Martial arts through education of it’s artistic and cultural background. The pilot project was to last one week, but with a successful turnout and popularity of the classes, the program was extended for 2 months. • Led participants through a series of self designed warm up, cardio and conditioning routines in preparation for practical instruction in the martial art. During the end of each session, participants were then led in a series of cool-down and stretching routines and facilitated post workshop discussions on lessons. • Managed the workshop business plan from design to execution, which in the end provided Arnis Canada Inc. with a large enrollment of new students. • Designed and facilitated self defense workshops for the Canadian National Exhibition Fair Ambassadors. Workshops were designed primarily to provide safety and security techniques and self defense tactics against armed and unarmed assailants. Show less
