  Managed and assisted with executive board activities including budgeting, sponsorship, recruiting, IT, and communications with the university as well as corporate sponsors. Worked with other senior members to develop Preliminary Design Reviews with team members to facilitate communication with team leadership, integration requirements, and design feedback. Created and managed a comprehensive database with more than 80 team sponsors and suppliers. Was the point of contact for UF and corporate sponsors and managed outgoing team sponsorship requests. Responsible for the design, manufacture, and testing of the vehicle's aerodynamics package, which consisted primarily of front and rear wings. Using Star CCM+ I was able to develop an aero package that produced the most downforce with a larger L/D than any previous GMS vehicle. I was able to validate these models with both wind tunnel and on-track testing. See the attached PDF for a detailed design document I wrote after the 2017 season (must be logged in to view). Assisted in design of the aerodynamics package, including using Star CCM+ to simulate the performance of aerodynamic devices. Manufactured traditional components manually on the lathe and mill, as well as with the use of a CNC machine. Created tooling for composites components and performed carbon fiber layups.

  Structures and Integration Engineer

  In my final semester at UF I completed my senior aerospace capstone project. Our team of six was tasked with proposing a CubeSat to support an experimental sensor under development by a partner university in Italy. As the structures and integration engineer I work with the other systems' engineers to develop a 3U architecture that maximized use of limited available space and could be built for only $500,000. I designed the primary structure of the satellite and performed structural analysis to show it would survive a launch with Virgin Orbit. The final design report has been submitted to the 2019 AIAA Small Satellite Conference. Show less
