  I have worked as a Registered Nurse from May 1989 until the present. My experience has included both clinical as well as instructional duties. I am an instructor in ACLS and PALS, at Kaiser, which incorporates the Laerdal SIM family into these American Heart Association courses. I have regularly performed patient teaching in the Interventional Anesthesia department for the pain management clinic orientation class. During my first five years of nursing, I worked a surgical and Tele/high acuity floor at Kaiser. Concurrently I worked the Critical Care unit at Victor Valley Hospital where I often floated to the Emergency Department and Recovery Room. At Kaiser I have also provided service as a Registered Nurse in the Same Day Admission, GI Lab, Interventional Anesthesia Pain Clinic, flu shot clinic and hospital Skills Fair's. For the last 21+ years I have been staff in the Emergency Room at Kaiser in which I am assigned to patient care in our high acuity and resuscitation areas of the Emergency Department as well as triaging ambulance and ambulatory patients. I am a member of the Critical Care Transport Team and transport critical adult and pediatric patients between hospitals by ambulance. I am also an active member of our hospitals’ Disaster Team.   Course Director

  As Course Director and Facilitator for American Heart Association courses (ACLS and PALS), I have been responsible for set up, instruction and evaluation of small class size groups of up to 12 students. The students are primarily physicians, nurses, therapists and paramedics. In this setting I provide education as the sole instructor.

  Victor Valley School of NursingSmall group and large group/classroom teaching experience at this nursing school. I teach one or two clinical rotations through Victor Valley College Nursing program each semester. I have had experience teaching and guiding students in the skills lab as well as proctoring them in skills testing stations. Classroom management skills are demonstrated with leading of the computer student training for the students requiring Health Connect training in their clinical groups. Ability to manage time and multiple focuses is demonstrated by teaching in the SIM lab where we use CAE (Meti man and IStan) high fidelity simulators. Knowledge of adult learning is applied in these learning environments. Coordinating the nursing section of the school's bi-annual disaster drills including team planning, power point lecture and coordinating drill events for teams working in the disaster drill. Show less
