      The group manager at Strypes is responsible for both management of people his group and program management of projects executed by them. As a group manager I increased my group from around 15 people in 2017 to around 90 people. Main responsibilities:Company initiatives:- Responsible for beginner courses (C / Python / Bash) realized with Code Academy and MN Knowledge. These courses resulted in around 40 people hired in 2021.- Responsible for the rating & improvement program with our biggest customer. As a result, our score (given by the customer) improved dramatically in the past 4 years.- Leading an initiative for definition of training / learning path per position, so newcomers are brought faster up to speed.- Responsible and single POC for transformation of four of our teams from project WoW to SAFe WoW (due to customer transformation).People management:- Escalation point for Project Managers and Technical teams.- Creating Strategy for developing needed skills and competences of the technical teams and Project Managers.- Responsible for keeping a 'helicopter' view over all the people, competences, expertise and Group development - new teams, new competences, etc.- Overall accountable for people retention.- Leading interviews with candidates for technical and project management positions.Project / Program Management:- Keep a 'helicopter' view over all projects and deliveries within his responsibility.- Accountable for overall project progress and success.- Responsible for the long term project inflow for the group (6 months - 1 year).- Act as mediator when project conflicts occur across groups/departments/locations.Client management:- Participate, present the results and follow-up on Steerings committees with customers.- To continually engage clients, acting as an ambassador for company thus ensuring key relationships are nurtured and developed to their full potential.- Provide an escalation point for clients.
