  when the carriages were delivered, we would get them off the truck with jacks, attach the bolsters to the underframe of the car and sit them on the bogies. we would then carryout to commission the consist, carryout all modification and once satisfied the consist would be then handed over to the operator.

  Foreman pneumatic/hydraulic workshop

  had a team of 4 technicians and we would uncouple a consist into individual cars then remove all hydraulic brake components and pneumatic component from each car and overhaul and bench test the components. once the overhaul components are reinstalled and the cars reconnected we would then commission the consist. I had to utilise all my man/hours efficiently, create and close work orders and localise spares.

I have 16 years experience in the light rail industry, such as maintenance of carriages, underfloor wheel lathe, overhaul of pneumatic and hydraulic components ( webco and Knorr bremse) as well as implementation of fleet wide modification.
